Freshman Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (Dublin, Ireland) won her heat of the 800 meters to advance to the quarterfinals, while senior Stephanie Schappert (Delray Beach, Fla.) and junior Angel Piccirillo (Homer City, Pa.) each moved on to the quarterfinals of the 1500 meters during competition at the NCAA East Preliminary at Hodges Stadium on Thursday evening. They highlighted a busy night for Villanova during the first of three days of competition at the regional meet.
