Senior Angel Piccirillo (Homer City, Pa.) opened her 2016 season in dominant fashion with a 15-second margin of victory at the Paul Short Run on Saturday afternoon. Piccirillo and junior Siofra Cleirigh Buttner (Dublin, Ireland) each finished in the top six overall out of more than 400 runners and Villanova placed sixth in the team standings in a strong overall effort. Piccirillo and Cleirigh Buttner each received awards for being among the top 25 finishers in the Women's Gold race, while Piccirillo also received an award for winning the race.
