Wildcats Finish BIG EAST Triple Crown with Team Title at Outdoor ChampionshipsPublished by
A dominant performance on its own home track helped lead Villanova to the team title at the outdoor BIG EAST Championships on Sunday afternoon, as the Wildcats set a conference meet record with 225.5 points and easily won the sixth outdoor championship in program history. This is the first outdoor win for Villanova since 1986 and it completes a 2013-14 triple crown for the Wildcats, who also won the league cross country and indoor track & field titles. Head coach Marcus O'Sullivan and his staff were named the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year and Villanova won six individual events en route to the team victory.
