Junior Patrick Tiernan (Toowoomba, Australia) won for the seventh time in 14 career starts and the trio of Tiernan and seniors Jordy Williamsz (Melbourne, Australia) and Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) helped lead Villanova to a runner-up finish in the team standings at the Paul Short Run on Friday morning. Tiernan recorded a winning time of 23:55 on the 8,000 meter Cross Country Course at Lehigh and crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Williamsz (23:58), with Denault (24:03) just a few paces back in fourth place.
