Senior distance runner Patrick Tiernan (Toowoomba, Australia) posted the fastest time in the nation this season in the 3000 meters and headlined three performances by Villanova that stand out on the national scene during competition at the FastTrack National Invite on Friday night. Tiernan was within striking distance of the school record in the 3000 meters, junior Ben Malone (River Vale, N.J.) flirted with a sub-four minute Mile and the Wildcats recorded one of the nation’s top times in the distance medley relay in Friday’s meet at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex.
